Team Ecosse and its drivers are going to be
extremely busy this week. All of the team's cars will
be at the Chicagoland track near Joliet in Illinois
and there will hopefully be some fireworks and possibly
even some surprises on show in the three ESCORS divisions
in which the team currently runs.
First up on Wednesday, the three West Series cars will
be out. Michael Hogg's No.10 Knockhill Racing Circuit
Ford has been picking up some good results of late with
nine in a row top-ten finishes, four of which have been
in the top five whilst Catriona Rochford's No.11 Ford
has been creeping steadily up the time sheets, only
to suffer some bad luck in the races. Team testing has
shown her to be picking up her pace though and the word
is that she is very confident ahead of this race. The
No.11 will once again be in the A Team Season One DVD
colour scheme which ran earlier in the season at Texas
in an extension to the deal to run the Special Edition.
The No.37 car is set to be driven by 2003 West Series
Champion Fred Joseph in a one-off run as Mats Gustavsson
is not due to run at this race in his part-time schedule
with the team. In the most recent West Series races,
Gustavsson took 8th with Hogg in 10th and Rochford parking
her damaged car in the pits to be classified 13th at
Infineon Raceway while last week at Evergreen Raceway
Gustavsson and Hogg took 7th and 8th at the flag with
Rochford in 10th to complete a good result for the whole
squad.
At the weekend, Hogg, Rochford and Gustavsson will
all be out in the Alienware Series race at the track.
After his split with Fischer Racing and subsequent one
off drives in each of Micha de Wals' CI Racing cars
and making the first start for the Team Ecosse No.11
car at Nashville, Hogg has signed to drive Mark Warmington's
No.41 Chevrolet, hopefully for the rest of the season
and he made his debut in the car last week at Daytona.
Rochford will return to continue her part time schedule
in CI Racing's No.74 car while Gustavsson will be in
his regular Pro-Eco Motorsports No.50 Chevrolet. The
No.11 car (still currently without a sponsor) will also
make the journey to the track. There is currently a
50-50 chance that the car will run in the race as the
team is in discussion with a possible driver on a one-off
basis.
Finally, the No.01 BallRacing Cup team will attempt
the biggest event at Chicagoland during the week - the
Boomtown 250. Mike's Hard Lemonade has stepped up to
be a major sponsor for this high-profile race which
will be the climax of a long week of racing at the track.
Hogg will be at the wheel of the car once again following
a promising showing at Michigan three weeks previously
and the squad is hopeful that they will be able to put
on a good showing at a track they enjoy. |
